Aerotek Assembly Technician in Tonawanda, New York

Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, your role will involve receiving and interpreting instructions, route cards, shop orders, and work assignments. You will check parts delivered to the assembly area against the bill of material and report any shortage or irregularities. Your work will also involve visually inspecting repair units for defects, heating bearings and sleeves using a torch, and assembling, dismantling, and fitting casting and component parts. You will be responsible for fitting up to .002 tolerances, checking impeller diameters for specified dimensions, making gaskets, and assembling sleeves and impellers. Additionally, you will lay out cast or fabricated bases and assemble and align pump head motor and coupling to complete the unit. On repair orders, you will make bills of material noting parts to be replaced or shortages and submit this information to the Fitter leader. Keeping your work area clean and orderly is also part of your duties.
