Job Information
Amazon Senior Product Manager, MFN Transportation, Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN) in Tokyo, Japan
Description
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our Marketplace Shipping Services (MSS), known externally as "Amazon Buy Shipping." In this highly visible role, you'll have the unique chance to shape both the business strategy and product vision for this critical program that enables third-party sellers to access Amazon-negotiated shipping rates and services through our carrier partnerships.
The MSS program is central to Amazon Japan's marketplace growth strategy, as it directly impacts seller success and customer delivery experience. You'll help shape shipping strategy that impacts thousands of sellers and millions of customer deliveries while building relationships with major Japanese carriers. This role offers visibility and development opportunities while contributing to the future of e-commerce delivery in one of Amazon's largest marketplaces.
You'll collaborate at the intersection of e-commerce, logistics, and seller success, balancing multiple stakeholder needs - from marketplace sellers seeking efficient shipping solutions, to carrier partners requiring technical integration, to end customers expecting reliable delivery. While MSS is your primary focus, you'll also help drive several key Delivery Experience (DEX) initiatives to ensure end-to-end customer satisfaction. You'll partner across Seller Services and Transportation to improve how sellers deliver millions of packages to customers across Japan.
This role combines both tactical execution and strategic thinking to improve how sellers ship on Amazon Japan. You'll have the opportunity to navigate complex stakeholder relationships, influence across organizations, and contribute to strategic decisions while maintaining focus on seller success and customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute the product strategy for MSS, balancing seller needs, carrier capabilities, and customer delivery experience
• Enhance seller adoption of MSS by developing compelling value propositions, pricing models, and incentives while improving the seller experience
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with major Japanese carriers, including rate negotiations and service level agreements
• Monitor and improve key business metrics and analyze shipping patterns to identify growth opportunities
• Lead cross-functional initiatives with engineering teams to define and execute the technical roadmap
• Partner in executive-level discussions and alignment across Seller Services and Transportation teams
