Amazon Global Logistics APAC Import Program Manager in Tokyo, Japan

Description

As the Global Logistics Mile APAC Imports Program Manager, you will drive planning and execution of strategic import operations initiatives enabling optimal cost, speed, and quality in Inbound transportation of Retail products into our APAC Fulfillment Network. Collaborating cross-functionally with 3rd Party Vendors, Retail product teams, transportation providers, and destination teams, you will own the planning to meet and exceed service level agreements, key performance indicators, and cost targets. This encompasses aligning on expansion projects of fulfillment center, as well as identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve third party performance. As programs/initiatives have influence over multiple teams and their leaders, you will build consensus across multiple stakeholders on program objectives. Success in this role requires supply chain and international logistics experience enabling management of initiatives, strategic thinking to improve end-to-end operations to manage complex initiatives, as well as your ability to influence and persuade leaders to support your recommendations. As a key member of the team, you will have goals set around the continuous improvement of our import processes in the region.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic import operations initiatives to meet and exceed service level agreements, key performance indicators, and cost targets.

• Aligning on projects with each fulfillment center and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve third-party performance.

• Building consensus across multiple stakeholders on program objectives and recommendations.

• Manage complex initiatives and strategic thinking to improve end-to-end operations.

• Continuously improving import processes in the APAC region through data analysis and process optimization.

• Monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics and providing actionable insights.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment.

• Manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal service and cost-effectiveness.

• Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in international logistics.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)

  • Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
