J&J Pulmonary Hypertension is a leader in the field of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Our portfolio of PAH treatments covers the spectrum of disease, from WHO Functional Class (FC) II through to FC IV, with oral, inhaled and intravenous medications.
Job Overview:
The Associate Director is an integral team member within US Medical affairs (MAF) Medical Strategy Team. This individual is a pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) medical expert who will lead key medical affairs functions and initiatives of data generation and data dissemination strategies. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Function as a lead scientific resource for PAH brands and pipeline
Develops and executes Medical Strategy Plan, leading Medical Affairs research projects and publications aligned to strategic initiatives and unmet medical needs
Lead the development and execution of Advisory Boards
Engage with external experts to gain insights on disease and treatment landscape to shape strategy
Partner with commercial team and multiple cross functional partners to support the development of compliant promotional and proactive materials, including scientific review
Responsible for ensuring that all Medical Affairs activities are compliant with regulatory and HCC policies and processes
Stays abreast of the emerging and established scientific, regulatory, clinical recommendations and program implementation landscape related to PAH
Supports activities that translate to timely and positive interactions with external partners and organizations, including the Key Scientific Leaders and professional societies
Supports the training, education, and scientific communication needs of Medical Affairs colleagues and other J&J stakeholders
Support strategy plan development of the annual medical plan and timely execution of medical tactics assigned to the role.
Skills
Clinical expertise in Pulmonary Hypertension
Experience with research projects, publications processes and strong presentation skills
Strategic leadership and influence skills to drive cross-functional initiatives and projects
Build and maintain strong relationships based on credibility and trust within medical affairs and cross functional partners
Understand the organizational priorities while managing the detailed execution of deliverables
Analytical skills required for scientific support of projects
Navigate a complex matrixed environment
Must possess excellent written, oral and presentations skills
Qualifications - External
Requirements
MD, PhD, or PharmD; other degrees may be considered based on years of experience and expertise
A minimum of eight years of relevant experience of which direct and indirect pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience is preferred
Strong knowledge of PAH, pulmonary medicine and critical care is preferred
Strong scientific acumen and experience regarding clinical research, clinical trial design and management of medical affairs functions preferred
Medical plans, publications, phase IIIb/IV programs, investigator-initiated studies, educational grants, scientific material creation
Knowledge of PAH health care ecosystem is preferred
Working proficiency with Microsoft Office platform and resources (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual platforms are required
Ability to travel within and outside of the US as needed is preferred (when travel is permitted by company post pandemic)

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 137000 to 235750.
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
