Aerotek Cnc Machinist in Tiffin, Ohio
CNC Machinist | Direct Hire
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in a job shop environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines, primarily mill and lathe machines, to create custom parts. This role involves high-precision machining, with some runs lasting 6-8 days. The work is not production-based but focused on job shop-type projects, so you’ll be handling one-of-a-kind parts rather than mass production.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting up and operating CNC mill and lathe machines.
Performing tooling changes and machine setup on each shift.
Reading blueprints and using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet required tolerances of +/- 0.001.
Editing programs at the machine using G&M codes and working with MasterCAM and SolidWorks .
Working with materials such as low carbon and alloy tool steels.
Using Fanuc and Siemens controls to operate machines.
Occasionally utilizing manual machines and grinders as needed.
Working in a job shop environment, completing intricate and detailed work, with runs that can take several days to complete.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
6-8 years of experience in CNC machining .
Experience with machine setup and tooling changes.
Proficiency in editing programs using G&M codes .
Strong ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers , and gauges .
Ability to read blueprints and work with detailed specifications.
Experience in a job shop environment (not mass production, one-off parts).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds .
Proven experience holding tight tolerances of +/- 0.001 .
PLUSES:
Experience with MasterCAM or SolidWorks .
Familiarity with both mill and lathe machines .

Work Environment:
Shifts available :
Second Shift : 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, Monday – Friday (Shift Premium of 12.5%)
Third Shift : 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday – Thursday (Shift Premium of 7.5%)
Pay Range : $20-$34 per hour, with the average pay at $27/hour .
Shift Premiums : 12.5% for 2nd shift, 7.5% for 3rd shift.
Position Type : Direct Hire
Location : On-site, with a team of 400 employees working in an older building full of history.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $79560.00/yr.
• Overtime after 8 hours in a shift - Double time at 45 hours - Saturdays are primarily voluntary OT
• Benefits include: 401k with company match, health, dental vision benefits, 3 personal days, paid sick leave, life insurance
• No time clocks. On what we call an “honor system” when it comes to keeping track of time.
