Sensata Technologies, Inc. Facilities Maintenance Technician in Thousand Oaks, California

Sensata Technologies is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician who will support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing all facilities and manufacturing equipment including but not limited to: construction, painting, plumbing, welding, heating/cooling, automation and fire protection systems in a safe and orderly fashion. Responsible for the ongoing preventative maintenance of the community building, equipment and grounds and for troubleshooting maintenance problems when they arise. Ensures that maintenance services are available for emergency needs that may arise outside of regular working hours. Performs most tasks independently and utilizes properly licensed vendors approved by the Regional Facility Maintenance Manager for assistance with tasks when needed. Ensure Regulatory Compliance is met at all times to include Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness, and OSHA Readiness requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex electronic control systems requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems.

  • Meets regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customers informed on the nature of service provided outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or repairs.

  • Promotes the company and maintains a relationship with customer- Focused on "add-on" to increase work.

  • Manages assigned work to meet professional execution of time and customer satisfaction.

  • Able to multi-task and balance workload to meet deadlines and keep and executive effective time management.

  • Adheres to company and customer safety policies and standards. Must lead by example and model the way.

  • Provides safety awareness on work sites and enforces our company policies and rules.

  • Assist installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.

  • Perform other duties related to the commissioning and servicing of building controls and Facilities management systems as assigned.

  • Have the ability and capability to perform other tasks as needed such as electrical work, plumbing, Drywall, painting, and repairing.

  • Perform moderate and major repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves and other devices as required.

  • Understanding water chemistry, D.I water, Chillers, Reverse Osmosis systems

  • Machine shop chip conveyor repairs, machine shop equipment troubleshooting.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of HVAC systems and apply this towards servicing and commissioning DDC programmable controllers using software engineering tools.

  • Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, commissioning and general servicing of control systems. Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface.

  • Properly completes required project and service documentation and communicates status accordingly.

  • Ability to troubleshoot any problem at any given time and adjust systems accordingly at last minute requests.

  • Responsible for informing site FESH Manager/EMS Representative of any new activities or unique conditions (i.e. process change) affecting the facility and the EMS.

  • Education or training in ESH procedures relevant to job duties.

  • New Hire Orientation on ESH and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field (Preferred.)

  • Minimum 2 years in HVAC Experience (Preferred.)

  • Minimum 2 years in Controls - Building Automation (Preferred.)

  • Familiar with California Code of Regulations, Title 24 Green Building Standards Code, Part 11 and Title 20 Appliance Efficiency Regulations.

  • Working knowledge of such programs as: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

  • Working knowledge of Carrier i-Vu Building Automation System and Acuity Brand nLight SensorView Configuration and Monitoring Software a Plus.

  • Must have excellent communication skills and a high level of self-confidence with the ability to work independently but also in a team environment.

  • Interpersonal skills to properly represent Sensata Technologies to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

  • Maintaining the highest level of integrity and business acumen.

Hourly Base Pay Range:

$38.67 - $53.17
