Barilla Hellas is looking for a talented and qualified Health, Safety and Environment Professional to join our team. The individual will be based in Theva Plant and report directly to the Plant Director.

This position plays a pivotal role in influencing site-wide safety practices and environmental compliance, positioning you at the heart of our efforts to optimize operational excellence and reduce environmental impact.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy for Occupational Health, Safety, Risk, and Environment, including the creation of policies and standards. Set up specialized working groups to align with legal and company requirements.

  • Offer continuous advice and training on health, safety, and environmental issues. Ensure all staff are trained and competent in their safety responsibilities, aligning with company and legal standards.

  • Implement a risk management policy with contingency plans, establish performance metrics, and monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards through regular audits and annual reporting.

  • Manage technical safety functions and emergency procedures, ensuring operational teams are properly equipped and trained.

  • Coordinate health, safety, and environmental activities across the site, providing management with analysis on accidents and advising on preventive and corrective measures.

  • Conduct regular reviews and inspections to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with international standards ISO 45001. ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. Promote continuous improvement through behavior-based safety and efficient resource management.

  • Establish and manage safety-related budgets & investments.

  • Responsible for all Facility Management issues

  • Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards

    What makes you a good fit..

  • University Degree in Engineering or in any other relevant field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental roles within manufacturing or industrial sectors, with demonstrated success in policy development and program implementation.

  • Credentials such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or certifications in environmental management systems would be considered and asset.

  • In-depth knowledge of applicable safety regulations and legislation, with experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and emergency response planning.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, influence stakeholders, and drive cultural change.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Robust analytical skills to identify risks and devise effective solutions, coupled with a strong problem-solving aptitude.

  • Exceptional organizational capabilities with a focus on detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, fostering a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental management.

  • Project management skills

  • Fluency in Greek & English
