Barilla Hellas is looking for a talented and qualified Health, Safety and Environment Professional to join our team. The individual will be based in Theva Plant and report directly to the Plant Director.
This position plays a pivotal role in influencing site-wide safety practices and environmental compliance, positioning you at the heart of our efforts to optimize operational excellence and reduce environmental impact.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy for Occupational Health, Safety, Risk, and Environment, including the creation of policies and standards. Set up specialized working groups to align with legal and company requirements.
Offer continuous advice and training on health, safety, and environmental issues. Ensure all staff are trained and competent in their safety responsibilities, aligning with company and legal standards.
Implement a risk management policy with contingency plans, establish performance metrics, and monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards through regular audits and annual reporting.
Manage technical safety functions and emergency procedures, ensuring operational teams are properly equipped and trained.
Coordinate health, safety, and environmental activities across the site, providing management with analysis on accidents and advising on preventive and corrective measures.
Conduct regular reviews and inspections to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with international standards ISO 45001. ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. Promote continuous improvement through behavior-based safety and efficient resource management.
Establish and manage safety-related budgets & investments.
Responsible for all Facility Management issues
Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards
What makes you a good fit..
University Degree in Engineering or in any other relevant field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, health, and environmental roles within manufacturing or industrial sectors, with demonstrated success in policy development and program implementation.
Credentials such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or certifications in environmental management systems would be considered and asset.
In-depth knowledge of applicable safety regulations and legislation, with experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and emergency response planning.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, influence stakeholders, and drive cultural change.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Robust analytical skills to identify risks and devise effective solutions, coupled with a strong problem-solving aptitude.
Exceptional organizational capabilities with a focus on detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, fostering a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental management.
Project management skills
Fluency in Greek & English
