*Galveston County Health District is seeking a *Senior Accountant! This position is responsible for performing technical/accounting duties related to GCHD financial monitoring and reporting.

Required:
Must have obtained a bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business.
3+ years accounting experience.
MBA or CPA (will consider partial passed CPA), preferred.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles along with capability to perform analytical functions and prepare financial and statistical reports.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
Experience working for a FQHC, governmental organization, or other medical related role is helpful, but not required.
Prefer experience with accounting software systems such as Accufund, but not required.
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Prefer experience with fixed asset accounting and tracking, but not required.
Budget and Financial Statement Experience.
Ability for spur of the moment transportation without relying on organization vehicles.
Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of Texas for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Department of Motor Vehicle check may be required, if applicable.
