Lead Java Cloud (Azure or GCP) Engineer ( On-Site)

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Cloud Engineer with over 10 years of experience to join our dynamic team in an on-site position. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in cloud technologies (Azure or GCP) and sophisticated technical skills in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Angular, JSON, MQ/JMS, REST API, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes, offering the opportunity to lead innovative cloud-based projects and contribute to impactful solutions.

Location: Texas City - TX USA, (On Site)

Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural roles in implementing large-scale cloud solutions.

• Apply hands-on experience with Azure Well-Architected Framework or similar cloud architecture methodologies.

• Apply expertise in DevSecOps, including GitHub Actions, Octopus, and other cloud deployment processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new features and enhancements.

• Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications by identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs.

• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and share technical knowledge with team members.

• Leverage a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, including network design, storage solutions, and compute resources.

• Develop software using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Octopus, Nexus, or similar platforms.

• Implement standard methodologies for software development, including coding standards, testing, and documentation.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to foster continuous improvement.

• Supply to the overall architecture and design of software systems.

• Ensure application security and scalability through thoughtful design and implementation.

• Actively participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Communicate effectively with team members and collaborators to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of expertise in cloud technologies, specializing in Azure or GCP platforms.

• Extensive hands-on experience with advanced technical skills, including:

• Java/J2EE , Spring Boot, Angular, JSON, MQ/JMS, REST API, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Proven ability to optimize cloud platforms using FinOps practices to enhance performance and cost-efficiency.

• Strong background in implementing cloud observability and monitoring platform architectures.

• Demonstrated experience with Azure networking services (VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, load balancers, and Azure F

• Proficiency in relational databases, including PostgreSQL, GCP-BQ, and Hibernate.

• Expertise in real-time data processing with Kafka.

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, including network design, storage solutions, and compute resources.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until April 30th, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $81K – $140K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
