About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for anEnergy Business Cost Accounting Specialist!This position is located in Terneuzen, The Netherlands.

Dow is one of the world’s largest industrial power producers, supplying power, steam and other utilities for use in its global operations. The Dow Energy business creates value by leveraging its energy capabilities, yielding best-in-class cost efficiency and high reliability for Dow’s many business units.

The Energy Business Cost Accounting Specialist will oversee and manage overall financial and cost analysis related to the Energy units (Power Plant, Boilers) in Terneuzen and ensure proper utilities’ distribution within our biggest site in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • You record, monitor, report, and communicate business results, and ensure activity is accurate, complete, and compliant to accounting standards.

  • You are responsible for the product costing of materials, review for variances, and correct/communicate result to business/plant management.

  • You are responsible for the utilities’ distribution across all units on site and for the Third Parties invoicing.

  • You perform inventory reviews (MRO) and fixed asset reviews.

  • You provide financial analysis to business management teams as needed for project studies, options analysis, and productivity/benchmarking measurements, and establish and maintain an ongoing working relationship with other sub-processes and functions.

  • You prepare the budget and support monthly estimate process.

  • You interact with many functions such as Commercial, Business Finance, Plant Engineers and Production Leaders, Dow Services Business and Project Managers.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on controlling, finance, accounting, or similar discipline.

  • You already have 3+ years of professional experience in controlling and cost accounting in a manufacturing company.

  • You have an excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels and are a team player.

  • You have good proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • You have experience in working with ERP systems (SAP).

  • You have strong analytical skills.
