Baylor Scott & White Health Simulation Educator - Sonographer (Hybrid) in Temple, Texas

It's a full-time teaching role. This is a hybrid position, so assume 2 days/week will be work-from-home and 3 days will be working onsite in Temple.

JOB SUMMARY

The Simulation Educator is accountable for the development and delivery of the education, remediation, and organization of point-of-care-ultrasound (POCUS) educational curriculum. This position will work closely with the BSWH and BCM Houston Simulation team, and Baylor College of Medicine School of Medicine (BCM SOM) faculty

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

· Plans, coordinates and helps develop POCUS curriculum for SOM learners in adherence with BCM SOM, policies and procedures.

· Comprehensive support and implementation for POCUS curriculum including regular assessments and deliberate practice sessions.

· Assists in scheduling sessions, for groups of learners including assessments and remediation sessions if necessary.

· Collaborates with multiple stakeholders across Temple and Houston campuses for Baylor College of Medicine (students, faculty, Sim Core and Curriculum office)

· Communicates effectively and regularly with simulation coordinators, administrative support and other stakeholders to ensure timely development and delivery of POCUS curriculum.

· Supports identification of resource needs related to equipment and purchasing.

· Assists and plans for budgetary revisions as learner needs and programs mature.

· Teaching and assessment of all learner sonography skills as required or requested.

· Attends and contributes to meetings with all appropriate stakeholders, POCUS faculty, and curriculum teams in Temple and Houston..

· Utilizes clinical and educational experience to help support curriculum development and creation.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

· Superior teaching experience with knowledge of testing modalities and hands-on skill assessments.

· Experienced in Microsoft products, especially excel.

· Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Health, Allied Health/Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Training and Development or related field

· 3 years of Sonography Educator experience is preferred.

Must have: Reg Diag Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
