Job Summary :

The Data Governance & Controls Associate Vice President (AVP) will support the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) on the Report Inventory, Ownership and Tiering Control for MUFG Americas. The Report Inventory, Ownership & Tiering Control is foundational to the Data Management Integrated Control Framework and outlines the definition of Report, Risk Report, Regulatory Report, Report Tier and change control requirements. Maintaining an accurate inventory of reports is imperative to support internal and external requirements for America's Risk Management (ARM), Chief Finance and Strategy Office (CFSO), MUFG Lines of Business, including data related initiatives, rationalization of reports in production, allocation of resources, etc. The AVP will coordinate the definition of requirements, communication, training, tooling and executing the Report Inventory, Ownership & Tiering Control with the respective Report Inventory Owners, Report Content Owners, Independent Subject Matter Experts, Data Officers, etc. across each MUFG Line of Business and Function. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Create definitions of report, report tier and process requirements to create and manage accurate and complete report inventory, including change control.

  • Coordinate the execution of report inventorying process actively with ongoing refreshes and ad hoc change management.

  • Coordinate and gather relevant information from various stakeholders to populate the report inventory. This includes but is not limited to Report Inventory Owners, Report Content Owners, Independent Subject Matter Experts, Data Officers, etc.

  • Perform quality checks on report metadata to verify accuracy, completeness and compliance with process requirements.

  • Support testing of report inventory review automation workflow through the development lifecycle.

  • Documentation and reporting to maintain detailed documentation of process, status updates including training materials and artifacts to support audit activities.

  • Proactively identify gaps in current BAU activities and implement improvements.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the data governance framework and processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, information management, business administration, or related fields.

  • At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related fields.

  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, methodologies, and tools.

  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating data governance activities and forums.

  • Experience in working with data policies, standards, procedures, and controls.

  • Experience in working with data quality metrics, dashboards, and reports.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Risk and regulatory reporting experience is beneficial.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi and Collibra.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $110K - $134K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
