Overview The Admissions Specialist (Recruiter II) serves as the lead for USU Wasatch Region's recruiting efforts under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator II. This individual will coordinate with the Program Coordinator II, campus administration, student services team and the Statewide System to assist in the development of and carry out the activities of a strong vision and strategic plan that achieves enrollment goals for USU's centers in the Wasatch Region.

This position is in the Wasatch Region at the USU Salt Lake Center.

Responsibilities Recruiting (80%)

The Admissions Specialist (Recruiter II) position has the experience and knowledge to activate the strategic approach for all recruiting efforts in the Wasatch Region. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required. The individual must have the ability to work independently over a large geographic area as well as collaboratively with others.

  • In collaboration with the Program Coordinator II, initiate, plan, and execute events that generate applications for admission to USU across the region. These include high school visits, high school events, degree open houses, college fairs, corporate relationship development, and community outreach etc. across the Wasatch Region
  • Currently, transfer students are our largest source of prospective students. Growing our efforts and relationships with other institutions, specifically Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), is important for the success of this position.
  • Provide campus tours to prospective students, families, and other visitors, showcasing the facilities, academic buildings, student resources, and other key areas of interest
  • Develop programming for high school and middle/junior high schools as requested
  • Identify networking and community outreach opportunities in addition to recruiting events to distribute delicious Aggie ice cream and campus program materials
  • Coordinate recruiting activities with main campus recruiting and admissions office
  • Serve as a member of and contribute to the statewide admissions specialists team
  • Attend yearly/monthly training and coordination meetings; participate in professional development activities to stay current on trends and best practices in college admissions and recruitment
  • Respond to communication from prospective students and parents through a variety of methods (texts, email, web forms, Ellucian CRM Recruit, etc.)
  • Identify prospective students and track progress through recruitment funnel
  • Respond to inquiries received through USUs web forms
  • Create automated admissions/recruitment communication based on understanding of campus's student demographic and needs
