BluePearl Vice President of Strategy and Development in Tampa, Florida

BluePearl Pet Hospital is currently seeking a Vice President of Strategy and Development, position is based in Tampa, Florida.

The Vice President, Strategy and Development (VP, Strategy & Development) is a key member of the BluePearl operational leadership team responsible for developing and driving strategies for profitable access and revenue growth in collaboration with other BluePearl and Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) stakeholders, including but not limited to, organic growth, inorganic M&A growth, relocation/renovation projects, innovation, etc.

This leader works through multiple channels to drive profitable growth from strategies developed for BluePearl. This highly strategic role will partner with direct reports, leaders, and teams across the entire business to infuse profitable access and revenue growth, brand awareness, and client experience into operations and strategic plans.

As the VP of Strategy and Development, you will:

  • Develop and drive strategies for business growth across BluePearl, partnering with business and hospital leaders to create unified strategies for growth that reflects customer demands, market research, and revenue potential.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure strategies developed from business growth are aligned with BluePearl’s strategic goals and effectively deployed at all levels.

  • Oversee BluePearl’s construction portfolio to ensure strategic project selection and planning, with projects delivered on time and within budget.

  • Create and maintain relationships with related vendors, such as general contractors, real estate brokers, and other entities that play significant partnership roles in BluePearl’s business development.

  • Lead the vision, planning, and execution of growth strategies across all Hospital Operations, including maximizing access and revenue, market research and competitive analysis, go-to-market tools, customer segment selection, and penetration plans.

  • Provide leadership to team of professionals, including all aspects of Associate development, performance management, and direction of responsibilities for direct and indirect reports.

  • Continuously evaluate and evolve our industry position and growth strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions, including analysis and research, to support the achievement of revenue and growth targets.

  • Develop and optimize budgets to meet strategic needs of BluePearl and deliver profitable organic and inorganic growth opportunities in new and existing markets.

  • Remain accountable for results of growth strategies focusing on both short and long term KPIs that meet/exceed agreed upon growth targets.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field required. MBA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in driving business growth and expansions through revenue generation efforts. Experience in construction and/or real estate preferred.

  • Prior senior leadership experience in a complex, multi-site organization required, preferably in the fields of veterinary medicine or healthcare.

  • Management experience in a competitive multi-unit business required.

  • Experience leading or partnering closely with operations to drive business growth and entry into new markets is required.

  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and in a diversity of geographies.

  • Experience assessing and prioritizing business opportunities to determine which provide the best leverage required.

  • Strong business operations acuity, financial acumen, and an ability to bring a macro perspective to business are required.

  • Experience leading multiple complex construction and real estate projects, including de novo greenfield builds, highly preferred.

  • Experience leading M&A efforts preferred.
