The Sr. Manager, Talent Acquisition – Oncology Practice will be responsible for the high touch and proactive delivery and execution of our Talent Acquisition Practice Strategy. This individual will lead a team of Talent advisors and ensure that we are providing Johnson & Johnson Oncology with a competitive advantage. Individual will have therapeutic area industry & academia business acumen as an active, strategic, trusted advisor to Business Leaders and Human Resource Partners. You will bring deep expertise and market knowledge while staying on top of trends and market changes and remain knowledgeable about talent competitors. This individual will also be the first line manager for the recruiters supporting the Oncology R&D, Interventional Oncology and Oncology Medical Affairs space. This individual will be responsible for recruiting physicians, Executive level positions and pipelines for critical positions and building proactive pipelines and gaps in succession plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate the strategies of the business into talent access deliverables including recruitment, innovating, talent pipeline cultivation, DE&I, market maker capabilities and outreach, and optimizing the candidate and hiring manager experience

  • First line management of a team of highly skilled R&D recruiters

  • Responsible for recruiting physicians, Executive level positions and pipelines for critical positions and gaps in succession plans.

  • Utilize a deep understanding of J&J's long and short-term strategies, with special focus on its different growth drivers and innovation pipeline. Apply deep technical acumen, including knowledge of industry and functional/therapeutic area to mentor and influence hiring managers in the most critical talent insights.

  • Stay largely connected with the external Oncology community, positioning oneself and the team as established professionals with deep technical expertise, strong business network, relevant social media presence, knowledge and attendance of events and seminars. This position will be heavy physician recruitment and pipeline building from academia as well as industry competitors.

  • Cultivate a high level of candidate care & service during all stages of the recruiting process. Craft long term relationships by acting as a career mentor and becoming part of his/her network while building a healthy pipeline of passive talent for future opportunities.

  • Maintain and exceed all metrics of our high performing team

  • Serve as a strategic talent advisor to the business, HR, and candidates and influences and/or challenges traditional approaches to talent acquisition.

  • Serve as an ambassador for the Global DE&I strategy and foster a culture of inclusion within the team and the broader J&J organization.

  • Works on executive level positions for Oncology R&D, Interventional Oncology and Oncology Medical Affairs

  • Lead Proactive / Confidential pipeline work for business-critical positions and scenario planning in partnership with BUHR

  • Leads the execution of key conferences such as ASCO, ASH & ESMO-Collaborate closely with the talent sourcing team and the Oncology Leadership team to execute Physician Networking Events, and other targeted recruiting activities that result in hiring of critical Oncology talent, and expansion of proactive talent pipelines.

  • Point for Physician pipeline development

  • Point for diversity initiatives such as Scholars of Oncology Diversity Engagement Programs

  • Proactively share important market data and insights with the business leaders and BUHR to influence recruiting and talent strategies.

  • Help Brand Johnson and Johnson as the employer of choice in Oncology by driving digital presence via LinkedIn, continuing to enhance the J&J Oncology landing page within Beamery and building and executing target social/branding campaigns around key conferences.

  • Lead, develop and coach a team of high performing practice recruiters in Oncology.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of direct full life cycle recruitment experience

  • Global talent perspective and experience working in a highly matrixed environment is required.

  • Understands legal issues that impact global recruiting activities, namely employment contract law and restrictive covenants.

  • Has proven ability to recruit and hire diverse talent is required.

  • Ability to negotiate and advise on complex compensation packages is required.

  • Has excellent communication (both written and verbal), influencing and negotiation skills are required, as is strong project management, analytical and critical thinking skills with thorough attention to detail.

  • Ability to tell our talent acquisition story through data is required.

  • Ability to draw insights from various tools and influence key stakeholders is required.

  • Experience and ability to present to a Sr. Level audience is required.

Preferred:

  • Experience recruiting in the R&D space

  • Experience recruiting physicians

  • Experience recruiting for Executive levels

  • 2 years of managing recruitment talent in geo-dispersed settings

  • Experience recruiting in Oncology R&D and Medical Affairs

  • Experience leading Physician networking event

  • People management experience is highly preferred.

  • Experience and creativity in recruiting physicians from academia is highly desired.

  • Excellent assessment and interviewing skills and a strong command of assessment and selection methodologies, instruments and processes are preferred.

  • Proficiency with various applicant management and applicant tracking systems is preferred.

  • Has experience in utilizing metrics regularly to supervise and maintain performance is preferred.

Other:

  • Willing to travel up to 15%, as needed

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 - $203,550. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as health insurance, savings plan, pension plan, disability plan, vacation pay, sick time, holiday pay, and work, personal and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
