Must have the following to apply:

  • General knowledge about ships and machinery
  • Ability to align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
  • Ability to read micrometers with low tolerance
  • Ability to run inside shop equipment in compliance with standards/values
  • Ability to prepare written mechanical evaluations
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Have basic hand tools

Preferred:

  • Three years of machining experience

Job Description:

The Inside Machinist is responsible for the assembly, installation, modification, and repair of various ship machinery and systems. Set up, service, repair, align, and test machines that operate on a mechanical and electro-mechanical basis. Skilled with precision, utilize tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to repair machine parts to manufacturer specifications. After evaluating procedures, recommend changes related to the efficiency of setup and production.

Days and Hours:

This full-time machining position works

40+ hours per week

. The 1st shift runs from

7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

. Evenings and weekends are required when needed.

Complete work schedule will be discussed with applicant.

Pay:

Starting rate is: $24.95 per hour. Benefits are offered.
