Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

Implementation:

  • Provide Workday Payroll expertise during the implementation phase of Workday Payroll (go-live scheduled for 1/1/2025)

  • Work with a cross-functional team of Finance/Payroll, IT, and business leaders to ensure a successful implementation.

  • Participate in system design with the Workday implementation team and advise internal team regarding system design.

  • Write detailed test scenarios.

  • Conduct testing.

  • Assist users participating in User Acceptance Testing.

  • Develop training content.

  • Work closely with the Payroll team to ensure that they are well prepared for go-live.

Post go-live:

  • Be a key partner to Finance Payroll team, providing day-to-day technical support.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues encountered by users.

  • Monitor integration with external payroll provider and solve/coordinate resolution of integration errors.

  • Determine, document, prioritize, and develop system enhancements.

  • Assist users with system/process questions.

  • Identify Security Role assignments for new users and review existing users’ Security Role assignments while ensuring proper internal controls.

  • Plan and perform regression testing for Workday biannual releases.

  • Review new functionality to determine impact on existing processes.

  • Perform regression test scenarios.

  • Work closely with a cross-functional team that includes Corporate IT and Corporate HCM to support Workday.

  • Participate in daily scrum meetings to discuss status of system fixes and enhancements.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record implementing, operating and/or managing Workday Payroll.

  • Experience writing test scenarios for a system implementation and/or system upgrades/releases.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Clear, thorough written documentation skills.

  • Good understanding of internal controls.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

  • Collaborate with functional and technical staff, both internal and external, to achieve required results.

  • Strong client service skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done on time.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting/Finance, or Human Resource Management.

Experience: 3-5 years of Workday Payroll experience

Previous payroll and/or payroll systems experience

Certifications: Workday Pro certification preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Position can be remote, but candidate should be willing to travel to Boston, MA two times/year to meet with the Corporate Finance/Payroll teams and participate in a team-building event.

  • Ability to work successfully with a remote team.

Willingness to work Central or Eastern Time Zone hours since the majority of the team members are located in those time zones.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $85,000-$95,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
