Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) Other Personal Services (OPS) position. The hourly pay rate is $20.00 to $25.00, depending on experience. The benefits include health insurance.

Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday.

This position requires up to 25% travel.

Additional Requirements:

Courteously assists Commission constituents to resolve questions or problems they may have in matters relating to the Commission, its programs, or fish and wildlife conservation in general. The Commission expects its employees to be courteous and respectful while assisting Commission customers and stakeholders, ensuring each encounter is as positive as possible. Employees should promptly resolve questions or problems relating to the Commission, its programs and/or fish and wildlife resources. When appropriate, employees will explain the reasons for agency actions or decisions while communicating a consistent Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) point-of-view.

Work at FWC is cross-functional meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC’s organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.

Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services rules and FWC’s invoice processing and warrant distribution procedures.

Education and Experience:

Experience using a Content Management Systems (CMS) and Responsive Design. Work experience with CSS and HTML. Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) and creating SCORM packages. Knowledge of image optimization and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. Have good verbal and written communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to the FWC web presence. Responsible for web development, which requires familiarity with various web technologies, including concepts of responsive web design and CSS/HTML. Provides support for the FWC eLearning system. Guides the planning of eLearning courses and creates courses based on content provided by subject matter experts.

  • Assists subject matter experts with submitted content edits, meeting with and advising staff on the usability of webpage design, and project-based building of responsive sites based on staff requirements. Aids and guides image optimization and ADA compliance to staff as needed. Answer calls and emails regarding issues staff are experiencing.

  • Works with a team to create training material for subject matter experts and provides face-to-face training as needed. Uses a task tracking system to track work, requiring written and verbal updates. Perform other duties as assigned.
