    $50,000.00 - $68,000.00 Annually $1,923.08 - $2,615.38 Bi-weekly

    Position Summary

    This is a highly technical position that entails analysis of Agency programs to provide information required by management. The incumbent will use statistical techniques and related software to obtain, summarize, and analyze data pertaining to costs, clients, utilization, and other aspects of APD programs. The incumbent will develop reports and presentations to communicate results to management. Specific tasks include:

    The Work You Will Do

  • Develops and tests queries to obtain and summarize data from the Agency’s iConnect system, the Medicaid paid claims database (FMMIS), and other agency data systems as required for mandated agency reports, management decision-making and regional administration.

  • Provides technical consultation to Agency management and staff concerning the collection, analysis and reporting of data as well as technical assistance with information system data file designs.

  • Develops research strategies for investigating new developments and topics of interest to management.

  • Prepares and maintains syntax programming and procedures developed for the provision of daily files to facilitate information for management and staff.

  • Performs ad hoc information requests submitted by various customers as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have at least 1 year of direct work experience utilizing statistical software applications such as SPSS, SAS, R or equivalent.

  • Must have at least 1 year of direct work experience in data mining or data analysis.

  • Must have experience with Microsoft software programs (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred with a major course of study in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance or related field is preferred.

  • The methods of data collection, analysis, basic management principles and practice.

    Ability to:

  • Analyze available information, observations and evidence to determine appropriate action.

  • Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, set goals and develop systems to achieve these goals.

  • Work independently and be detail oriented.

  • Utilize problem solving techniques.

    Direct Deposit Program

    As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

    Background Screening Requirement

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
