SPECIAL NOTES:

Four (4) years of professional experience in business analysis, system analysis, project management, or administrative work ispreferred. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the preferred years of professional experience.

Additional preferences:

  • Project Management Professional certification.

  • Experience preparing project documentation (e.g., business requirements, project plans).

  • Experience facilitating meetings (e.g., workshops).

  • Knowledge of Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR).

  • Knowledge of Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM).

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing using appropriate English grammar.

  • Competent public speaking skills.

  • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Knowledge of Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), accounting, operations, and processes.

  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, theory, and concepts.

  • Knowledge of computer systems concepts.

  • Ability to research and interpret accounting literature, rules, and pronouncements.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.

  • Ability to understand functional specifications for technical accounting applications.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    This position is with the Director’s Office of the Department of Financial Services Division of Accounting and Auditing, and it coordinates and manages Division projects (e.g., Revenue Standardization, Strategic Planning). These projects can be big (i.e., across all agencies) or small (i.e., internal to the Division). Position responsibilities includes:

  • Serving as Project Coordinator for Division leadership approved projects and initiatives. This requires confirming project scope, requirements, and timelines and validating that projects/division initiatives are completed on-time, within scope, and produce quality results using project management methodology.

  • Serving as Business Analyst for assigned projects. This requires collaboration with process owners to research and document business functions and needs, use information gathered to develop fact-based decisions, and implement plans as it relates to project assignments.

  • Serving as a Change Agent for assigned projects. This requires collaboration with the process owner(s) to address change impacts and perform activities (e.g., draft communications, organize workshops, create job aids) for the implementation of new requirements and standards.
