Provide engineering and consulting services for a diverse array of projects and clients. Responsibilities include leading field investigations, performing engineering analysis, making calculations and recommendations, designing and developing plans and specifications, observing and inspecting construction, and preparing and reviewing related reports. You will review drawings and construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress and budgets, and recommend changes. You will also research and resolve design and construction problems, assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports, and communicate complex engineering issues to both technical and non-technical clients and project teams. This role serves projects in sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial.
Responsibilities
Lead field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations.
Design and develop plans and specifications.
Observe and inspect construction for compliance with plans and specifications.
Prepare proposals and cost estimates.
Track and evaluate project progress and budgets.
Research and resolve design and construction problems.
Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports.
Apply sound engineering principles to complex engineering issues.
Communicate complex engineering concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
Prepare and review engineering reports detailing services provided, findings, and recommendations.
Participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities.
Supervise graduate, field, and project engineering staff.
Serve as a technical adviser to junior-level project team members.
Interact directly with clients and project teams to develop scope of services, communicate project progress, and provide findings and recommendations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Environmental or geology experience coupled with some geotechnical experience
Ability to follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards
Career-level, fully competent engineering professional
Experience in managing detailed phases of projects with moderate size and complexity
Ability to independently perform a variety of projects or selected segments of larger projects
Experience in planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating project work
Experience in preparing proposals and reports for projects of varying complexity
Quality control review of proposals written by others
Experience in evaluating complex laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports
Work Environment
This role involves working in both office and field environments. Current projects include solar fields, battery power, transmission lines, student housing, and large-scale FDOT jobs. Regional travel along the I10 corridor may be required. The company offers a large internal network for mentorship and support, and considers relocation for the right candidate.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
