Google Silicon Operations Senior Buyer in Taipei, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, or Product Engineer.

  • Experience the Process Management, Demand Planning, and Product Quality Control.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.

  • Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPM, CPIM).

  • 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, ideally in a high-tech or manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with global sourcing and managing complex supply chains, data analysis tools and techniques to drive procurement decisions.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor components, materials, and manufacturing processes.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing.   • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy of specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery terms. Track orders to ensure on-time delivery and address any delays or discrepancies.

  • Maintain regular communication with suppliers, resolving issues related to orders, quality, or delivery. Monitor supplier performance and collaborate on improvement initiatives.

  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible value for the company. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through volume discounts, alternative sourcing options, or value engineering.

  • Monitor inventory levels of assigned commodities to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs. Coordinate with planning and production teams to adjust purchasing activities based on demand fluctuations.

  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, track spending patterns, and measure supplier performance. Prepare regular reports for management on key procurement metrics.
