Crouse Hospital Front of House Specialist in Syracuse, New York

Crouse’s Nutritional Services Department ensures that guests receive exceptional customer in a clean, organized, and safe and positive work environment.

Pay Range: $23.08-28.85/hour b ased on verified education and experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm with occasional weekends and other shifts assigned

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example by demonstrating excellent customer service and maintaining a positive work environment

  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the cafeterias dining area, including tables, chairs, floor garbage and stations.

  • Ensure proper sanitation standards are met including regular cleaning of all surfaces and food service areas

  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are strictly followed, including sanitation and food handling protocols.

  • Supervise staff to ensure compliance with hospital safety policies, including lifting, cleaning and food preparation standards

  • Ensure the dining room is properly stocked with necessary utensils, napkins, condiment and package foods.

  • Assist in coverage, training and cafeteria activities and events.

  • Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership .

    Education and Certification Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 4 years as a dining room attendant/cashier in a supervisory role within the food industry

  • Knowledge of dining room operations, safety standards and sanitation practices.

  • Basic computer skills to complete tasks via email using Microsoft Outlook and annual educational requirements via the internet.
