Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Perform a wide variety of duties in the installation of new equipment, maintaining and repairing plant machinery and equipment, involving electrical and related trades. Analyze equipment problems electrically and demonstrate the ability to tear down machinery or equipment, replace or repair parts, and reassemble properly. Must be able to work from prints, drawings, sketches, written and/or verbal instructions to perform duties. Install new equipment, run wiring, conduit, and perform basic electrical work. Collaborate with the plant electrician and become familiar with plant electrical panels, disconnects, and electrical equipment throughout the plant. Perform basic electrical maintenance on electronic equipment and upgrades to the plant as directed. Use and familiarity with a multi-meter for electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Install new equipment and perform basic electrical work.

  • Run wiring and conduit.

  • Collaborate with the plant electrician to become familiar with plant electrical panels and disconnects.

  • Perform electrical maintenance and upgrades on electronic equipment.

  • Analyze equipment problems electrically, dismantle machinery, replace or repair parts, and reassemble properly.

  • Work from prints, drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete duties.

  • Use a multi-meter for electrical equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance operations.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in electrical, troubleshooting, and maintenance technician work.

  • Mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics skills.

  • PLC troubleshooting.

  • Electrical circuits knowledge.

  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Familiarity with electrical controls, PLCs, VFDs, and electrical switchgear (480v 3-phase, 24v DC safety circuits).

  • Capable of conduit installation and wiring by the NEC.

  • Efficiently diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Knowledge of electrical motor and automation operation and repair.

  • Knowledge of maintenance systems and techniques for servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Robotics experience is ideal but not necessary.

  • Experience with AB and Siemens PLCs.

  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs; programming experience is a plus.

  • Ability to achieve crane certification.

  • Ability to achieve forklift certification.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Accountability and dependability.

Work Environment

The work environment includes openings for maintenance electricians and mechanics on a 6pm to 6am shift, following a 3/2 rotation. The facility is equipped with advanced electrical panels and disconnects, and the dress code is appropriate for industrial maintenance work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Swansea, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $74880.00 - $81120.00/yr.
