       License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.Education Qualifications: Master's degree in related field required.Experience Qualifications: Five years of successful teaching experience required. The primary focus is experience in developing, facilitating, and coordinating professional learning opportunities based on best practices which are designed to meet the needs of adult learners and instructional leadership experience. Special education content knowledge is strongly recommended.Skills Qualifications: Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently; ability to create and deliver professional learning opportunities that support the vision, mission, goals, and instructional direction of the district; strong communication skills, both in oral and written format; knowledge and application of effective practices in professional learning; ability to work successfully with a variety of audiences including teachers, assistant principals, principals, and staff development representatives from metro-area districts; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; ability to analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and design and implement process improvement initiatives; and ability to effect change.Primary Responsibilities: Develop, facilitate, and coordinate professional learning opportunities for teachers and leaders in the special education fields that support the development and improvement of teacher, leaders, and staff quality and retention within the district.1. Develop, facilitate, and coordinate high-quality staff development opportunities for adult learners - teachers, instructional coaches, and school building and central office leaders based on the Standards for Professional Learning and district and local needs as determined by various data sources in the area of Special Education.2. Coordinate the design, development, organization, and evaluation of Special Education professional learning opportunities according to local and state guidelines and in a manner that utilizes best practices for teacher development.3. Evaluate the program's effectiveness utilizing state and local data and determine methods for addressing the areas of need.4. Revise and update program processes and documents/records to meet local and state standards.5. Support the Educator Preparation Program (e.g., endorsements), while maintaining a professional relationship with the Professional Standards Commission (PSC) and local colleges and universities.6. Model continuous learning to maintain knowledge of best practices in the field of staff development. 7. Serve as an active team member and liaison of the Staff Development and Special Education teams.8. Provide professional learning support according to district initiatives and LSPI as applicable to academic achievement and teacher development.9. Complete tasks with high quality under defined deadlines.a. Manage projects through strong organization, detailed plans, and balancing of multiple priorities.10. Interpret district and program philosophy, goals, and objectives to various audiences.a. Establish trust, rapport, and credibility within the organization.b. Communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders in both oral and written forms.c. Anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs in a high-quality and courteous manner.11. Leverage learning opportunities in a constantly changing environment.a. Adapt flexibly in shifting projects or priorities to meet the needs of a dynamic transformation effort.12.
