POSITION: Assistant Registrar, AE226, 100% FTE, Academic Staff, 12-month renewable/ongoing appointment, one vacancy POSITION SUMMARY: Assists in determining the strategic departmental goals, develops tracking metrics, and supports determination of direction for staffing to ensure students receive quality academic services. May supervise staff and provide professional development opportunities. Organizes and directs clerical and functional operations, within their area of specialization (i.e. graduation, transcripts, enrollment reporting, and student relations), providing critical support to students, faculty, staff, and third-party agencies and addresses questions or concerns with a solution-based approach. UW-STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION DUTIES: Manages and implements policies and activities for a unit. May supervise and lead permanent and provisional staff members who perform duties in support of the unit. Provides staff with timely and challenging professional development opportunities for improving their skills and increasing their effectiveness. Serves as the liaison to institutional stakeholder groups providing student record, curricular, and degree requirement data, and representing the interests of the unit. Evaluates unit effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement. Consults on procedural and policy implementation questions in accordance with established guidelines. Unofficial transcripts of all degrees earned ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited institution Two years of experience in an education environment with postsecondary student records, advising, admissions, registration, or records management Experience working with a student information system (SIS) such as PeopleSoft, Jenzabar and/or Banner or similar applications. This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship. A qualification for this position includes indepen ent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.
