POSITION: Groundskeeper, FP026, Full-time 100%, University Staff, 12-month renewable/ongoing, one vacancy POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains and landscapes lawns, planting beds, fields, and other public spaces. Inspects grounds to ensure conditions meet institutional grounds keeping standards. DUTIES: *Installs, propagates, and maintains the health of new and existing plants and landscape using a variety of vehicles and equipment. *Constructs lawn and landscaping projects including soil grading, seeding, and sodding. *Identifies and acts to remedy plant diseases and insect damage. *May monitor and apply chemicals and fertilizers as needed. *Maintains clean and clear lawns, walkways, roadways, and parking lots to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice. ADDITIONAL DUTIES SPECIFIC TO POSITION: *Operate a variety of power equipment and light vehicles. *Operate power mowers and trimmers to maintain lawns. *Operate power equipment including end loaders, pickup trucks, power brooms, snowblowers etc. to remove snow from walks, parking lots, and driveways. *Operate power equipment and light vehicles in spreading sand and salt on sidewalks and parking lots. *Perform daily preventative maintenance and inspections on mowers, trucks, plows, tractors, and related equipment. *Perform a variety of general labor and grounds keeping duties. To include: Other Duties: *Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned. *Other duties as assigned. *Ability to drive a vehicle for the purpose of conducting university business and meet the criteria for operation of state-owned-vehicles - Policy 615 STARTING DATE: As soon as possible. A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.
