Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Sugar Creek, Missouri

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a detailed and organized Accounting Clerk in Sugar Creek, Missouri. This role focuses on various accounting functions, primarily related to revenue and inventory processes, and procurement to payment procedures. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, an understanding of the chart of accounts, and the ability to utilize software effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Control Bills of Lading tickets and assist with month-end closings and financial audits

• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices

• Invoice weekly for different locations within the company using correct product and freight pricing

• Process credit memos, adjustments, and credit applications

• Prepare daily check deposits and applications, and ensure cash balancing

• Prepare any refund checks as required

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment

• Perform invoice entry for PO invoices and direct pay invoices

• Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks, and distribute checks accordingly

• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies

• Assist with other projects as needed, process weekly check runs, and ACH runs

• Respond to vendor inquiries and prepare annual 1099 preparation and submission

• Carry out month-end close functions such as journal entries and reconciliations

• Prepare monthly USGS (United States Geological Survey) report

• Enter Raw Material into Microsoft Access database

• Provide information for internal and external audits

• Perform other general accounting duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Demonstrated experience in billing and invoice processing

• Strong data entry skills are required

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Experience with accounts receivables systems is essential

• Familiarity with B2B collections and billing collection

• Ability to collect outstanding payments and manage collecting payments effectively

• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
