Job Description:

The Program Manager of Academic Affairs is responsible for building partnerships with schools, strategic planning, and quality assurance for talent pipeline and transition to practice. This position interacts and partners with various stakeholders including Bon Secours leadership, university and college program leaders, institutional faculty, staff and students, talent and acquisition recruiters, university relations specialist, and nursing professional development.

Essential Job Functions

  • Partners with nursing professional development team to develop and implement programs and strategies for quality new graduate nurse transition to practice. Coordinates student and clinical instructor intake, orientation, and compliance.

  • Leads planning and implementation of student programs including annual high school nurse explorer camp and university student nurse externship.

  • Directs the onboarding process for institutional clinical instructors and students.

  • Leads strategic planning efforts in collaboration with market leaders related to student placements, development of student education, and maintenance of quality and safety in student clinical placements.

  • Analyzes trends within data gathered from evaluations of clinical education rotations to inform strategic planning.

  • Collaborates with clinical educators and leaders to ensure a measurable, outcomes-focused, systematic approach to student placement with a continuing focus on quality improvement and patient safety.

  • Collaborates with clinical educators and leaders to provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, program directors, and other stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with market leaders, university relations, and talent and acquisition team to build relationships with schools to build talent pipeline.

Licensing/Certification

Current Virginia RN license or covered by compact (required)

BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire)

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field (required)

Master of Science in Nursing or related field (preferred)

Work Experience

2 years RN experience (required)

Experience in program coordinator role, clinical education, university relations, or recruitment (preferred)
