Job Summary: Operates VCI roll coating machine, on a flexo press, for applying a coating and print graphics across a substrate.
Job Duties:
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
- Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents, while maintaining quality standards
- Identifies poor quality material and notifies the supervisor and/or Quality Control
- Responsible for recording jobs into computer with correct usage to maintain inventory
- Flags splices and problem areas
- Check VCI coating levels to ensure an appropriate amount is applied.
- Check print heads/printed material to ensure a legible print is present.
- Identify equipment needing repair and notify supervisor/team lead
- End of order/day cleaning required, including flushing out ink pans, cleaning of anilox rollers and print plates, and wiping down/cleaning of machine rollers if buildup occurs
Must be willing to work in other departments and/or areas and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma and/or equivalent
- Printing press experience is preferred
- Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must be able to keep up with production standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and good follow-up skills
- Must possess good problem solving skills
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with coworkers and other departments
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work as team member or independently
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Must be able to lift up to 50#'s
- Must be able to read a micrometer
Must be able to stand for 8 hours with some bending and lifting involved
