Position Summary Facilitates the operation of the Surgery Center Sterile Processing Department by preparing instruments for surgeries and procedures. Ensures every instrument is properly decontaminated, sterilized, well-functioning, and available when needed. Sterile Processing Technician Essential Functions Coordinates with all disciplines within the surgery center to maximize patient outcomes and ensure a smooth flow of the surgical experience Collaborate with the surgical team in ordering supplies and communicating when loaner equipment must be coordinated Demonstrates knowledge of processes and procedures utilized in the Sterile Processing Department Function as a sterile processing technician during the stages of the sterile processing o Knowledge to successfully monitor and operate decontamination and sterilization equipment o Able to prepare, clean, inspect, test, sterilize, and store instruments based upon the specific IFU o Maintain and utilize knowledge of all applicable regulatory standards, including but not limited to AAMI and ANSI standards o Independently follows all cleaning checklists thoroughly and appropriately to maintain a clean and safe environment Other Essential Functions Must be willing and able to adjust schedule depending upon the needs of the company Must be willing to float to AEC Surgery Center depending upon the needs of the company Must present self at the workstation, ready for work, at the scheduled time Participates in department and company meetings, as requested Participate in acceptable continuing education, fostering career and skill development including meeting departmental continuing education requirements Performs other duties as assigned
