JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job ID: 21783 Position Title: Assistant Professor of Biology TTC Title and Code: Assistant Professor (FA040) FTE: 100% Principal Work Location: UW-Stevens Point Main Campus Supervisor: Dr. Paul Whitaker, Assistant Dean, School of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry Department: Biology The Assistant Professor of Biology is a tenure-track, nine-month faculty position in the Department of Biology at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. The teaching load is 12 credits per semester (24 credits/year) and will include courses in introductory biology and human anatomy, as well as upper-level courses that support degree requirements in various pre-professional health programs. There is also the possibility of teaching other courses based upon area(s) of interest, specialization, and department needs. Additional responsibilities include the development of a productive research program involving undergraduates, student advising, and department, school, college, and university-level service. ABD candidates will be considered, but in all cases the candidate chosen for the position must have completed all requirements for the doctorate by the beginning of the academic year following the initial employment year, for consideration for retention and tenure. Experience with and/or demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate education. Experience with and/or demonstrated ability to teach lecture-lab courses in anatomy. Experience with and/or demonstrated commitment to involving undergraduate students in research. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching introductory biology, comparative vertebrate anatomy, cellular biology, molecular biology, or other undergraduate biology courses. Experience team-teaching courses with multiple lab sections and a shared lecture. Research experience involving undergraduate students. Research experience involving molecular techniques.
