JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21016 Position Title: Assistant Coach, Men\'s Basketball & Diversity and College Access Success Coach TTC Title and Code: Assistant Coach (CC003) 65% and Academic Advisor (AE002) 35% FTE: 100% Principal Work Location: UW-Stevens Point Main Campus Supervisor: Brad Duckworth, Athletics Director, and to the Associate Director of the Diversity and College Access Position Summary This is a dual position reporting to Athletics and Diversity and College Access departments. The assistant coach responsibilities range from the planning, recruiting, coaching, developing, implementing, communication and administering of his/her program to achieve University and Department objectives to teaching duties within the Department of Athletics. Exhibit behavior that enhances the respect for the student-athletes, the athletics program, the University, and yourself in the conduct of your professional responsibilities. The position of assistant men\'s basketball coach reports to the head men\'s basketball coach. DCA Success Coach provides a holistic support service to underrepresented students (i.e., African American) in promoting appropriate and responsible choices on academic, social, and personal development to mitigating their academic and personal success. They will serve as a spokesperson and advocate on matters pertaining to student success by connecting them to on- and off campus resources to support their transition to campus and providing them the resources for their personal, academic, and professional development. The DCA Success Coach helps identify barriers to academic success and assist them in creating and applying action plans for overcoming challenges. They also help students maximize their potential by supporting and assisting students in gaining effective strategies and behaviors that can support their personal and academic lives. Maintains appropriate confidentiality, updates student advising records, and contributes to the development and delivery of success coaching and mentorship related events and programs. Works to ensure students receive accurate, timely, and holistic services in support of promoting student success, retention, and program completion. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment. Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and recruitment efforts for the unit to support underrepresented, first-generation, and low-income students\' success. Develops internal partnerships in support of program awareness and provides student interventions as needed. Anticipated Appointment Date: August 2024 Files must be complete to be considered.
