This position is for a business development professional for Advanced Sensors and Mission Training portfolio within our Defense Systems and Visual Products team for the Simulation and Training Solutions business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, incubating, pursuing, and capturing simulation and training opportunities for Defense platforms. The position will require interfacing to both internal and external Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The environment is fast paced, highly technical and challenging.

What You Will Do ​

  • The successful candidate will work with a team of business development and marketing professionals in conjunction with program management and engineering leads, to uncover, pursue and capture new business

  • Day to day activity includes responsibility for developing, forecasting, and capturing new opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing customers

  • Develops and presents compelling strategic and business growth opportunities that may include market and competitive analysis

  • Continually scans environment for business and strategic growth opportunities

  • Working with cross-functional, cross-enterprise teams

  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise. Represents organization as a prime contact on projects

  • Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordination between organizations

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, where erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would have a serious impact on the organization

  • Normally receives minimal supervision on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments

    Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required ​

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance ​

  • Direct experience working in the U.S. DoD/DoE/DHS community, PEO STRI, NAWC TSD, US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corp., USAF, Space Force, and US SOCOM

  • Direct experience working with system OEMs, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, and Raytheon

  • Position is located in Sterling, VA but may be remote depending on qualifications

  • Travel up to 40% may be required

    Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance, Top Secret eligible

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics discipline

  • Salesforce CRM tool experience

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
