System One Senior PLC Programmer - Motion Control Specialist in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Senior PLC Programmer with experience in motion control.

The successful candidate will join our dynamic team of experts to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems tailored to our clients' specific requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects within a collaborative working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC systems with a focus on motion control applications.

  • Develop customized control algorithms and motion profiles to optimize system performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLCs with other control systems, such as HMI and SCADA.

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of control systems to ensure functionality and reliability.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in PLC programming and motion control technologies.

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives within the organization.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in PLC programming, with a strong emphasis on Siemens platforms (e.g., S7-1500, TIA Portal).

  • Proven track record in designing and implementing motion control systems, including servo and stepper motor applications.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagram.

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, ProfNet) and motion control interfaces (e.g., SINAMICS).

  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

  • Prior experience in the aerospace industry or similar highly regulated environments is a plus.

  • Studio 5000 3X and Logix Hardware Platforms

  • Safety PLC Programming Experience

  • PanelView ME & SE based HMI Hardware

  • Kinetix Servo Drive Systems

  • PowerFlex700 series Drive Systems

  • FactoryTalk Optix and Ignition experience is a plus.
