ManTech Senior IT Technical Writer in Stennis Space Center, Mississippi
ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior IT Technical Writer to join our team in Stennis, MS.
The NOSC Senior IT Technical Writer leads the creation and management of all technical documentation, including SOPs, TTPs, work instructions, and cybersecurity guidelines. They work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure content is clear, accurate, and aligned with DHS policies, while enhancing knowledge sharing and supporting mission-critical IT and security operations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create and maintain technical documentation for software applications, systems, and processes, including user manuals, system guides, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and software developers to gather information and understand complex technical concepts.
Translate technical information into clear and concise documentation that is easily understandable by end-users.
Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of all technical documentation produced.
Organize and structure information effectively to facilitate easy navigation and retrieval of documentation.
Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and readability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, quality assurance, and product managers, to gather information and provide input on documentation requirements, edit, update, and finalize documents. Provides oversight and direction to junior staff
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in technical writing and a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field of study
3+years of experience in the IT industry
Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other IT Service Management Frameworks.
Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Certifications in technical writing, documentation management, or related field (e.g., Technical Writer Certification, Certified Professional Technical Communicator – Foundation)
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD suitability is required prior to starting this position.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in an office environment and maneuver in data center and other IT equipment installation locations.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs for distances up to 50 feet
