Stanford University Division Chief - Infectious Diseases & Geographic Medicine in Stanford, California
The Department of Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine is recruiting a Division Chief of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine for an academic appointment as Associate or Professor of Medicine in the University Medical Line or University Tenure Line at Stanford University School of Medicine. The Chief is expected to lead the research, clinical, and educational activities of the Division. We are seeking a candidate who combines proven leadership skills with an outstanding record of academic accomplishment; dedication to excellence in the clinical, research, and educational missions; an understanding of the complexity of academic medicine; and the creative vision to help grow and maintain a premier Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine. Established and emerging leaders in the field are highly encouraged to apply. Candidates should be accomplished physician investigators with a national/international reputation. Candidates should hold an MD or MD/PhD degrees or equivalent and be Board Certified in Infectious Diseases. Candidates will need to possess or be willing to obtain a California Medical License. The Chief will be expected to recruit additional faculty as needed to support both laboratory and clinical research and to expand the clinical enterprise. The Chief is also expected to strengthen the fellowship program and to increase its focus on the research opportunities so prevalent at Stanford.
The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line are excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
Associate Professor - $281,000 - $302,000
Full Professor - $304,000 - $344,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
