Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will be responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation.

• You are must be self-directed in the absence of the full-time Team Leader.

• You will maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given.

• You will set up and administer all routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures to patients of all ages.

Requirements

· Completion of a two year AMA approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or the equivalent); Bachelor Degree preferred.

· Minimum five years in clinical respiratory therapy in acute hospital environment. One year supervisory experience required.

· Current Florida license as RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)

· Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required

· Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required

· Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required

· Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
