Kimley-Horn Project Manager - Heavy Infastructure in St. Petersburg, Florida

Overview

Kimley-Horn has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated project manager for civil infrastructure (mechanical) to join our growing surface water team in St. Petersburg, FL. The successful candidate specializes in civil and mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management and leading of civil infastructure projects

  • Develop full sets of structural drawings and technical specifications without guidance

  • Train and mentor Engineers-In-Training (EITs) in structural engineering

  • Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submittal packages, while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project

  • Lead and provide support for construction phase efforts on heavy infastructure projects

  • Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members

  • Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field, required

  • Professional licensure as a P.E. in Florida

  • 8+ years of diversified mechanical engineering experience

  • Marketing experience including scopes of work, fees and budgets, and schedules

  • History of providing technical design and planning in the areas of heavy infastructure work including hydraulic lift systems, electric/drum and cable, etc

  • Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems

  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive manner

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
