The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides comprehensive services to 740 civilly committed clients. Services include sex offense specific treatment, education programming, therapeutic recreation, vocational programming and volunteer services, and health and wellness. Community Preparation Services (CPS), located in St. Peter, works with clients in the later stages of treatment. CPS emphasizes deinstitutionalization and reintegration, offering a less restrictive, unlocked setting that provides clients the opportunity to continue their treatment while preparing for their successful reentry into the community.
Our team is seeking a dynamic, dedicated individual to join us for a unique and rewarding career opportunity as a Rehabilitation Counselor Senior. This position, at CPS, provides direct rehabilitation therapy services to civilly committed clients at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) St. Peter.
Responsibilities include:
Contribute to the development of client individual treatment or rehabilitation plans by collaborating on the provision of clinical programming that is related to the client's individual treatment needs.
Develop and implement clinical programming that provides opportunities for clients to develop skills and competencies introduced in treatment.
Facilitate clinical programming that meets the needs of the clients.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation and report writing of clinical programming.
Participate in staff meetings and special projects as assigned for the purpose of enhancing MSOP programming and for professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experienceproviding counseling, behavioral management, rehabilitation services, caseload management, development or contribution to treatment or rehabilitation plans, and/or job placement services to individuals with developmental disabilities, mentally ill, or adjudicated sexual offense populations.
Note: A Master's degree in Rehabilitation (Vocational and Counseling), Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Sociology, may substitute for one year of experience.
