Salvation Army Youth Development Assistant in St. Paul, Minnesota

Position Summary The Salvation Army St. Paul Citadel is doing the most good by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; youth programming, and connections to community partners. The Youth Development Assistant is responsible for assisting with youth programming and activities. $15/hour, 15 hours/week 401 West 7th St, St. Paul, MN 55102 Essential Functions (Approximate time spent) Assist with planning and leading youth programming, events, trips, and activities in various areas including spiritual, educational, recreational, and relational. (80%) Participate in Worship and Christian education programs including supporting leadership with planning and teaching. (10%) Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information. (5%) Assist with seasonal and special events. (5%) Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience in youth programming, ministry, or social services is required. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Senior Soldier in good standing preferred. Valid driver's license, meet MVR driver's qualifications and pass background checks. Competencies Flexible interpersonal and communication skills. High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence. Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment. Working Conditions Moderate physical work and must be able to lift 50 pounds required. Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Must be able to drive, sit, communicate clearly, and work in person or on the phone. Work hours will include evenings and occasional weekends Supervisory Responsibilities None. Driving/Travel Requirements Occasional local driving using a personal vehicle or agency vehicle may be required. Rare overnight trips.
