The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State (OSS) is seeking a temporary Official Records and Data Practices Coordinator. This position manages program functions and office management needs for OSS’s Veterans Services Building staff; supports the OSS’s official documents and open appointments program responsibilities; and provides support to the OSS legal department on various programs and policies.

This position is anticipated to last three years with the possibility of permanent status.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the principles of intergovernmental relations, particularly in the context of executive branch operations.

  • Experience using software and scanning programs and applications, such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communications skills (oral and written) and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse clientele.

  • Ability to understand and interpret policies, administrative rules, legal opinions, and court decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of State data practices laws.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

  • Experience working in databases.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team, often in situations requiring immediate action.

  • Effective human relations skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask.
