If this interests you, we want to hear from you! The position will be part of the General Counsel's Office team. Senior Associate General Counsel Responsibilities Conduct legal research, writing, and analysis and provide legal advice to the Department on various complex and/or novel topics within the Department, including but not limited to, the Department's Paid Family and Medical Leave and Broadband Divisions. Assist with the Department's rulemaking activities. Assist with the Department's complex and/or high-profile data practices activities including privacy and security incident analysis. Provide the Department with legal expertise to support the Department's compliance with state and federal laws. Monitor litigation involving the Department to coordinate litigation-related information and activities. Writing Sample Individuals who are selected for interview may be requested to submit a writing sample. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment. Three (3) years of legal experience as a practicing attorney which must include conducting legal research, writing, and analysis. J dicial clerkship experience will count towards this criteria. Applicants that meet the above minimum qualification will be further evaluated on the followin g : Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in Minnesota and current with continuing legal education requirements. Experience providing legal advice to senior management or executives. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas of law related to the position: Rulemaking under the Minnesota Administrative Procedures Act and/or other administrative processes Minnesota's Family and Medical Benefit Insurance program State and/or federal Broadband laws and regulations Employment law Government grants/contracts/acquisitions Civil litigation The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and/or other privacy laws Experience planning and delivering complex legal training to non-legal audiences.
