This position exists to provide administrative support services and manage the office of the Council on LGBTQIA2S+ Minnesotans, including but not limited to supporting financial management, developing, and maintaining office processes, providing meeting support, and performing and coordinating numerous administrative functions to support the Executive Director.
This role must be able to establish and maintain a high level of effective working relationships with the Council and other State of MN employees, all of the varied Council stakeholders/clientele, including and especially legislators, the governor’s office, state agency staff, Council members, advocacy organizations, and Minnesota's LGBTQIA2S+ community of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender expansive, queer, intersex, asexual, or two-spirit.
Some of the job duties include:
Manage the office of the Council and provide administrative support to Council staff and Council members.
Provide financial management services in coordination with the Executive Director and Council Treasurer.
Attend and coordinate council meetings, including preparing and distributing material for the meetings.
Create and manage tracking systems such as legislative tracking and community event tracking.
Minimum Qualifications
Databasemanagement skills sufficientto develop tablesand manipulate, retrieve,and analyze data.
Demonstratedknowledge of data entryprocedures and systems, suchas Microsoft Office applicationsor similar data entry systems.
Documentandrecordsmanagementskillssufficienttomaintainelectronicorpaperfilesforefficientorganizationandretrievalof information.
Skillsinbusinessgrammar,spelling,andpunctuationtowrite,developandeditreports,letters,procedures,presentations,andother documents.
Minimum qualifications to be assessed at interview:
Knowledge ofprovidingpromptandaccurateinformationtocustomersinperson,onthephone,andthroughemailandotherwrittenor electronic correspondence.
Ability to communicate in a variety of formats to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy.
Abilitytorespectfullyengagewithclients,coworkers,andcustomers,whenhandlingdifficultorcomplexproblemsandresolving escalated complaints or disputes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with event management and operations.
Experience working with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
CompetencyinhandlingandprocessingprivateandconfidentialdatainaccordancewiththeMinnesotaGovernmentDataPracticesAct.
Knowledge of electronic file management systems.
Experience with performing website updates.
Experience working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
