About The Role:
The Senior Director, Health Plan Growth (Commercial and Regulated Markets) will provide strategic vision, guidance, and industry expertise driving growth for our health plan partners within the commercial and regulated markets space. The Senior Director will be responsible for cultivating innovation to ensure continuous improvement and enhancements to our holistic Health Plan Growth support model.
This individual will provide leadership and strategic direction to guide a team in providing collaborative support and market insights to assist our health plan partners is hitting and exceeding their commercial growth and retention goals, while also keeping up with key market and regulatory trends impacting the regulated markets’ landscape that may positively or negatively impact our plans and their ability to grow their RM footprints—collaborating closely with the broader Health Plan Account Regulated Markets teams.
This role is responsible for driving a comprehensive coordinated team strategy to ensure continuous improvement and enhancements to the evolved growth support model that takes a more holistic lens to client growth and the corresponding addressable markets. The Senior Director Health Plan Growth, Commercial and Regulated Markets will collaborate closely with Senior Director, Health Plan Growth (Commercial and Pricing Consultation)
This role will offer and oversee Go-To-Market commercial consultation to help our health plan clients win and retain commercial employer groups through targeted sales and prospecting strategies. Accountable to driving 3% lives growth annually equating to 45M in additional margin to the larger health plan division.
The Sr Director, Health Plan Growth (Commercial and Regulated Markets) will lead a team responsible for the understanding and assessing both proposed and existing regulatory requirements in Medicare, Medicaid and the Marketplace markets will be essential to the role. In addition, this individual will be responsible for influencing and directing roadmaps for each market to define ways for Express Scripts to differentiate itself while working within the client expectations and regulated markets requirements
The Senior Director will be responsible for developing and optimizing talent within the team ensuring the function remains as an industry differentiator, continuing to enhance and improve the commercial and regulated markets growth functions.
Job Scope:
This role devotes significant time to securing new business prospects and retention of existing Health Plan clients through successful partnership to drive growth at the plan level within the commercial lines of business and drives strategies and regulated markets’ lines of business.
Provides a client perspective and strategy associated with sales prospecting, RFP consultation, BAFO support and overall market consultation in driving clients the ability to effectively compete in their markets
Provides strategic direction that drives a cohesive client engagement strategy that spans across commercial and regulated markets lines of business
In partnership with the regulated markets strategy, quality and regulatory teams as well as regulated markets/product development team, provides a client perspective in the development of new products and/or client growth opportunities specific to regulated markets, including the ability to upsell new products to existing clients.
Regularly collaborates with both the account and regulated markets teams, as well as other critical cross-functional stakeholders on initiatives that promote growth opportunities that will allow Express Scripts to differentiate itself with our support model or capabilities.
Collaboration across the broader Evernorth Health Services enterprise to identify cross-partnership opportunities to introduce to clients
Drives an active coaching and high-performance culture within the commercial market development team. Participates on cross functional initiatives as assigned.
Experience (required/desired):
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
10-14 years relevant experience
Detailedknowledge in PBM and health plan industry commercial markets with experience driving upward growth
Knowledge of the regulated markets landscape
Expertise in process optimization and measurement to streamline workflow and information sharing to maximize client and team impact
Adeptat working withsenior leadersand developing key relationships.
Ability towork crossfunctionally withmultipledepartmentstogainconsensusand move projectsandinitiativesforward.
An inspirational, compelling leader who can communicate the vision to external and internal constituents; and commanding the respect and enthusiasm.

Up to 50% travel required.
