We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the ESG Reporting Compliance Team as a Packaging Data Compliance Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for research, compilation, and verification of packaging data sets to track and report progress on our packaging goals. Your work will play a crucial role in supporting Bunzl’s ESG and sustainability efforts and ensure accurate and compliant reporting. Job Functions:

Research

  • Conduct comprehensive online research using industry databases, regulatory agency websites, and supplier e-commerce portals to gather product-specific data (material composition, etc.)

  • Compare and analyze internal product data with supplier-provided information to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.

  • Utilize resources such as industry databases, regulator websites, and supplier portals to gather relevant packaging information.

  • Identify and research potential solutions for discrepancies between internal and external data.

Data Management

  • Maintain and update packaging data, adhering to standardized data entry procedures.

  • Conduct regular data quality checks using data cleansing techniques and data profiling tools to identify and address data errors or inconsistencies.

  • Generate reports and summaries on packaging data using data visualization tools like Power BI to present trends, identify potential compliance risks (e.g., restricted substances in materials), and support informed decision making.

  • Analyze packaging data using statistical analysis tools to identify correlations between packaging materials, regulations, and potential non-compliance issues.

  • Standardize data entry procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.

  • Conduct regular data quality checks to identify and address any errors or inconsistencies.

Sustainability

  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes related to sustainable packaging to ensure Bunzl remains compliant and competitive in the evolving marketplace.

  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base on sustainable packaging best practices to share with internal teams and contribute to overall sustainability awareness within Bunzl.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sustainability or related field from a four-year accredited university or college.

  • 1+ years of experience in ESG, Sustainability, or Data Analytics is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

  • Ability to interpret large data sets to identify inaccuracies and discrepancies.

  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

  • Knowledge of packaging materials and sub-components is preferred.

  • Knowledge of current and future packaging regulations and requirements is preferred.

  • Proficiency in using online research tools and databases.

  • Must be a strong team player and able to participate on cross functional teams.
