BUNZL Director of Corporate Accounting in St. Louis, Missouri
Description
The Director of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing all accounting and finance functions of the organization. This position ensures compliance with all applicable tax and accounting regulations and manages the preparation and filing of all necessary financial statements. The successful candidate has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles and processes.
Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of all necessary financial statements, and ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely
Monitor the accuracy of financial data and ensure that all transactions are properly recorded
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Provide financial guidance and support to commercial and wider finance teams, and ensure that all financial decisions are in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals
Coordinates and ensure proper accounting for acquisitions, pension, including communication with headquarters.
Coordination of all matters related to Internal and External Audit
Oversights application of accounting policies and procedures, internal control compliance
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in accounting and finance
Strong knowledge and experience of IFRS
5+ years of experience in a managerial level role
Prior people leader experience
Experience in Pension accounting and acquisition accounting
Strong organizational and time management skills
Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work independently, multi-task and effectively prioritize projects
Autonomy – Understands what is required, structures time and tasks and puts action plans in place, manages multiple projects and holds people accountable to appropriately achieve outcomes
Tenacity, Commitment and Personal Drive
High level of Integrity and Professionalism with high ethical standards
History of building and leading team with track records of developing and progressing talents
Able to build strong relationships with regional and divisional finance teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent required
Prior public accounting firm experience
