FSDB’s Parent Infant Program (PIP) provides home based early intervention in the natural environments of infants and toddlers and supports children and their teachers in Pre-K classrooms. Together with the family, certified professionals address the family’s concerns and help to determine priorities for their child.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Home Based Parent Advising :Home visitation experience . Work with the family and/or childcare staff to educate them about the needs of their child with a sensory loss in vision and/or hearing and other disabilities. Assist the family in determining priorities, concerns goals and documenting their progress on the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Plan and provide for the child’s smooth transition from natural environment to center based services. Work closely with parents to establish an individualized education plan (IEP) for their child. Determine and monitor the child’s level of development, developmental assessments, evaluation of functional vision and or hearing on an ongoing basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Bachelor’s degree in visual disabilities, counseling, psychology, early childhood education, social work or a health-related field. Knowledge of early intervention, best practice in partnering with families and school district personnel. Knowledge of early childhood birth to five developmental stages and strategies for issues related to sensory loss. Knowledge of early childhood ages 3-5 transitioning practices and ability to align effort with other Outreach Services initiatives. Knowledge of developmental and sensory assessment techniques and information. Skills in communicating effectively orally and in writing. Ability to administer developmentally appropriate screenings and assessments. Ability to provide in-home instruction to family and/or caregiver. Ability to evaluate program services and use evaluation data to enhance service delivery. Ability to schedule home visits and travel independently. Ability to perform essential job functions without any health restrictions, including the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, lift and carry up to thirty pounds, have unrestricted use of the upper body. Ability to bend, squat, reach, kneel, and climb stairs; Ability to move from sitting to standing position quickly, safely, and without difficulty. Ability to maintain a Valid State of Florida Driver's License and meet FSDB requirements to operate a state vehicle according to the Transportation Policy.

$30 - $35 hour based on experience as well as for allService-related activities to include:

• Travel time to and from home visits

• Time spent at a home visit

• Time spent completing assessment reports, billing, and related activities

.445 mileage reimbursement
