Mid-Level Systems Engineer
Location: Springfield, VA
Are you a Geospatial Systems Engineer looking to make an impact in national security and geospatial intelligence? We are seeking a mid-level Systems Engineer to support product quality assessment, test development, and data verification within the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG).
Join a dynamic team of image scientists, analysts, photogrammetrists, and statisticians, working with diverse sensor phenomenologies such as electro-optical, RADAR, LIDAR, OPIR, motion, multi- and hyper-spectral imaging. This role involves verifying and validating geospatial products to ensure accuracy and compliance with mission requirements.
A military background is welcomed, and we strongly encourage candidates with experience in image science, imagery analysis, or remote sensing to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Develop test plans and validation processes for new and existing geospatial products.
Perform independent testing and data verification to ensure product accuracy.
Work closely with stakeholders to track issues, analyze results, and communicate findings.
Apply knowledge of sensor imaging systems, geospatial products, and exploitation processes.
Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret clearance (must be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph).
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, independent testing, and data verification.
Strong understanding of requirements development and concept of operations (CONOPS).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in briefing technical issues and writing test plans/reports.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with remote sensing phenomenologies (EO/IR/SAR).
Knowledge of NSG tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED).
Familiarity with product quality assessments, visual analysis, and metadata validation.
