The Medical Director is accountable to the Chief Operating Office and the VP of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, and is responsible for providing supervision, support, training and quality oversight of assigned programs. Duties and Responsibilities: Reviewing health care law and regulations applicable to mental health and substance use Directs and supervises the work of the clinical and medical team including physicians, advanced practice nurse and registered nurses Utilizing healthcare law and regulations to formulate division and agency specific policy and procedures Promotes use of evidence-based practices by medical staff and ensure medical services meet regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations standards Liaising with medical and non medical departments and enchancing relationship with vendors Applies clinical and administrative skills to guide the programs in providing high level care Participates in Risk Review Meetings and Adverse Event Reviews as needed Reviewed medical data to identify areas for improvement and participate in the development of clinical programs Provides direct services to children and adults Supports and implements agency strategic initiative including the expansion of medication assisted treatment Minimum Qualifications: MD/DO required and board certification/board eligibility in psychiatry At least five years of professional experience in the mental health or human services fields required with at least three years at a supervisory level.
